We had the pleasure of having a “shop and stay” experience this weekend at the City Creek Center and the Hilton Salt Lake City Center.
We wanted to lay out a few tips that would make your experience more smooth and enjoyable.
Tip 1
Stay at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center. It is very convenient! We loved staying at the Hilton. The location is amazing. It is in the heart of downtown Salt Lake and is walking distance to City Creek Mall, Temple Square, and more!
Tip 2
All of the rooms are updated and designed with a modern touch! They have 18 floors with astonishing views of the city!
Tip 3
Our favorite part about staying at the Hilton Salt Lake Center is that the indoor pool and hot tub is open till 12 a.m! I’m pretty sure we were the last ones out of the tub 😉

Tip 4
You MUST visit Santa! ‘This’ Santa at City Creek is the BEST!!! You don’t have to wait in line. They have a virtual line… Yep, all you have to do is sign up with your name and phone number. While you are “waiting” you can go shop! When it is your turn you will get a text and BAM it’s your turn with Santa! I think this is the best Santa experience we have ever had!
We thought Santa was super personable with our kids! He knew how to talk to them and not make them cry. He spent a good amount of time with us and we didn’t seem rushed at all. Tip 6
Another thing you don’t want to miss is the Fire Fountain show located by Nordstrom’s and the big Christmas Tree. The show happens at 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm every night on the hour. It’s an incredible show with Christmas music, fire, and the fountain display! Our boys are 4 and 2 and they absolutely loved it!
Tip 7
Another awesome thing about City Creek is their Indoor Play Place! It is located in the southeast corner by Subway. The playground space is open but enclosed with only two entrances. This design is any parents dream! You can watch your kids from anywhere while they stay inside on all of the fun features!
Bonus Tip… Have your husband watch them play here while you… go shopping!!! BEST PLAN EVER! Our boys could play there for hours!
Tip 8
Visit the Macy’s Window Displays! Every year they have beautiful creative window displays. This is our family tradition every year. (I think visiting Santa at City Creek is now going to be apart of our tradition too.)

Pay attention to the Window displays inside of City Creek, they are incredible! We really enjoyed Anthropologie!
Overall we had a wonderful time visiting City Creek Center and the Hilton in Salt Lake. All of the Christmas / holiday decorations are eye candy that makes it so magical and fun!
